The 192km Challenge | 7–11 December
1 GOAL. 5 CELEBRITIES. 5 DAYS. 5 LOCATIONS. 192 KILOMETRES.
Across five days and five locations, five celebrities will each take on their own trek. Their individual distances will combine to reach 192 kilometres.
Each kilometre represents one of the 192 clinical trials testing potential new Alzheimer’s treatments around the world right now - the largest pipeline of potential treatments in history. Every kilometre is another reason to believe a cure is possible.
After taking on last year’s Trek For A Cure and speaking powerfully about his family’s experience of dementia, actor Charlie Quirke returns as captain for this year’s challenge.
Across the week, he’ll motivate each celebrity through their individual trek, keep spirits high when the going gets tough and talk to them about why they believe in a cure - and the future they want to help create.
Meet the celebrities
Five famous faces. Five individual treks. Five personal reasons to believe. Meet the people whose distances will combine to reach 192 kilometres for everyone affected by dementia.

Trek For A Cure FAQs
What is Trek For A Cure?
It’s your chance to choose a route, date and distance and raise money for dementia research this Christmas. Whatever your distance, your trek and fundraising can help bring a cure closer.
How far do I need to walk?
That’s up to you. Choose a distance that feels right and make your trek your own.
When should I take part?
Choose a date that works for you during the festive period. Five celebrities will take on their individual parts of the cumulative 192km challenge from 7–11 December.
Why 192 kilometres?
Right now, 158 drugs are being tested across 192 clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease - the largest pipeline of potential treatments in history. Each kilometre of the celebrity challenge represents one of those trials: another avenue of research, another source of hope and another reason to believe a cure is possible.
Do my kilometres count towards the 192km?
The 192km is the fixed cumulative distance across the five individual celebrity treks. Your own trek makes that moment even bigger by bringing more people into the campaign - and every pound you raise counts towards our shared £200,000 goal.
Can I fundraise without doing a trek?
Absolutely. Hold a Festive Fundraiser - from a coffee morning or bake sale to a quiz or get-together - and everything you raise will count towards the same £200,000 target.
How do I receive my rewards?
Raise £40 to unlock a free Christmas bobble hat, or £150 to unlock a free festive jumper. We’ll be in touch when you reach each milestone.
Where will the money go?
Your fundraising will help Alzheimer’s Research UK fund the research that will lead us to new treatments and, one day, a cure for dementia.
Show you believe - your way
Not taking on a trek? Bring people together for a festive coffee morning, bake sale, quiz or get-together. However you fundraise, every pound will count towards our shared £200,000 goal.
Make it festive and receive 10% off an Alzheimer’s Research UK Christmas jumper, when you start fundraising.
